The full 4 pages (23-27) of a 55 page 2010 World Health Organisation document on Global Recommendations on Physical Activity for Health, entitled ‘Age Group: 18-64 years old’ are now attached in a PDF file format .
The recommendations for over 65 year olds are almost identical, with a caveat recommending that when adults of this age group cannot do the recommended amounts of physical activity due to health conditions, they should be as physically active as their abilities and conditions allow. The Physical Activity weekly goals/targets for over 65’s are identical to 18-64 year olds, i.e. 150 minutes per week, including 75 minutes moderate, and 75 minutes of vigorous activity, and that greater health benefits can be achieved if 300 minutes of weekly physical activity can be achieved, including 150 minutes moderate activity, and 150 minutes vigorous activity.
