Well done to last Saturday morning’s 23 who turned up for the 9-30am class. Very good Resistance and Cardio Intensity I thought.
***Special mention for Loreto, Catherine, Stephen, Matt, Isobel. Caoimhe, Pierce, Rebecca, and Sean, who participated in the 20m progressive shuttle run test, a test that measures your cardiovascular endurance.
***VO2 max ratings varied from Fair to Superior, measured by the highest cardiovascular rated standards, set by ‘The Cooper Institute,for Physical Fitness Assessments and Norms for Adults and Law Enforcement, Dallas, Texas.
***Just to put the results in context from an Irish Cardiovascular Health Perspective:
Anyone with a FAIR rating, would be in the top 20-30% for cardiovascular fitness Nationally.
A GOOD rating would put an SOUTHSIDE FITNESS participant in the top 10-20% of cardiovascular endurance fitness.
An EXCELLENT rating would be within the top 10% Nationally, and a SUPERIOR rating in the top 5%.
***We’re fortunate to have the majority of our Southside Fitness Participants rated in all categories (FAIR to SUPERIOR) for all age groups, as a result of their regular weekly medium to high intensity exercise training, and within that group we have many in the EXCELLENT and SUPERIOR Categories.
